Students enrolled in the Automation Engineering degree program have access to international study programs based on agreements with numerous foreign institutions. Each year, several students, both Italian and international, participate in mobility programs. Students selected for a specific program can enhance their curriculum by spending a period abroad and earning credits that are fully recognized by the Politecnico di Milano.

ENHANCE Program

The ENHANCE program offers a specialized mobility track for MSc Automation and Control Engineering students, partnering specifically with TU Berlin (Germany) and NTNU (Norway) to create a seamless international experience. Unlike traditional Erasmus exchanges, this initiative relies on close cooperation among academics to provide a “pre-emptive” selection of courses, meaning these classes are already embedded in the official manifesto. This structure eliminates the administrative burden of complex Learning Agreements and ensures guaranteed ECTS recognition upon return, allowing students to integrate a semester abroad or a thesis project without prolonging their graduation timeline.

The program is designed with flexibility in mind, offering three distinct layers of engagement: semester-based mobility, short-term activities like Spring Schools, and thesis research projects. Beyond the classroom, students join a dynamic community with unique local perks, such as direct internship pathways with German companies or access to NTNU’s exclusive “Koie” network of wilderness cabins for hiking and skiing. To participate, students must specifically select “Enhance Thematic Paths” in their preferences during the International Mobility call.
