UCIMU – SISTEMI PER PRODURRE Group Master’s Thesis Awards have been awarded to the following graduates of the Automation and Control Engineering program:
Alessandro Bartesaghi, awarded in the category “Machine tools, robotics, and production systems”
Matteo Robin, in the category “Digital Factory,” part of the MICS project – Made in Italy Circular and Sustainable
Davide Ferloni, for a thesis carried out in collaboration with the Camozzi Research Center
Congratulations to our students!
The theses were developed at the MERLIN laboratory (https://merlin.deib.polimi.it/) under the supervision of Prof. Paolo Rocco and Prof. Andrea Zanchettin, faculty members of the degree program.
Two Graduation Awards in memory of Claudio Maffezzoni and Nicola Schiavoni have been established for the current academic year.
The awards are intended for students who have obtained the Master’s Degree in Automation and Control Engineering between November 1, 2024, and October 31, 2025.
Both prizes aim to recognize and reward the best Master’s thesis addressing topics related to the following areas:
“Claudio Maffezzoni” Award: application of advanced automation and control techniques in technologically advanced fields
“Nicola Schiavoni” Award: development of innovative methodologies for automation and control.

The research and development project on autonomous driving AIDA – Artificial Intelligence Driving Autonomous has been turned into a documentary available on RaiPlay: https://www.raiplay.it/programmi/aida. The project is coordinated by Prof. Sergio Savaresi, lecturer in data-based modeling and vehicle control systems in the Master’s Degree in Automation and Control Engineering, and is mainly developed by engineers, researchers, and faculty members from our Automation Engineering program.
