The second-level degree program stands out for its advanced scientific approach. Graduates must:
  1. Acquire a solid command of mathematical tools for the analysis and design of complex systems;
  2. Develop in-depth knowledge of technologies, techniques, and industrial processes where automation plays a fundamental role;
  3. Enhance the ability to explore and evaluate market trends and innovative applications of instrumentation and components;
  4. Master advanced techniques for identification, analysis, simulation, optimization, and control of dynamic systems;
  5. Cultivate teamwork skills and understand corporate organization principles.
Since the 2010/2011 academic year, an English-taught track has been available, and since 2014/2015, the program has been officially named “Automation and Control Engineering” in English.

Admission Criteria for Students

Graduate from Politecnico with a Bachelor’s in Automation
Directly admitted if the average is greater than or equal to 22/30
Graduate from Politecnico with another engineering degree
Directly admitted if the average is greater than or equal to 23
Graduate from other universities and/or foreign students
Evaluated on a case-by-case basis; if graduated from an Italian university, a minimum average of 23 is still require
